A lorry and a boat at the same time, who lets his duck do all the talking.

Quack is a lorry and a boat, both at the same time, and he hardly ever says a word, because his little duck does the talking for him. On the day of the Little Muddlebury Fete, Mayor McNeil decides to float across the River Dabble on Quack to open it in style. But nobody listens to the duck, and halfway across Quack springs a leak. Adamson the steam tug and Scamp come to the rescue, and the day ends with a disco in the marquee.

What is it about?

It is a fine thing to have a friend who speaks up for you, and a kind thing to listen when they do. But when you really need help, shout for it yourself.

Which real vehicle is Quack based on?

Real Quack is a DUKW, which everybody calls a Duck. He was built in America between 1942 and 1945, and just over 21,000 were made. On the road he can do 50 miles an hour, and in the water a propeller pushes him along at about 6. For years Ducks gave rides around Liverpool's Albert Dock, and in 2012 the Queen went for a ride on one.
