The Green Machines · Book Five
Foxy
Foxy is Book Five of The Green Machines, a children's picture book series by David Woods. Too fast round Cow Corner, and a very muddy rescue.

Too fast round Cow Corner, and a very muddy rescue.
Foxy is clever, Foxy overthinks everything, and Foxy always has a plan. His plan to impress Fiona is to zoom past her so fast that she thinks he is amazing. But Foxy is tall and heaviest at the top, and Cow Corner is the sharpest corner in the village. Soon Foxy is upside down in Farmer Geoff's field, Fenton the rescue truck is stuck up to his axles, and Jordy is face down in a cow pat. It takes five-year-old George and Old Chief to pull everybody out.
What is it about?
You do not have to show off to be liked. Slowly round the corners.

Which real vehicle is Foxy based on?
Real Foxy is a Fox armoured car, known to soldiers as the CVR(W). He was designed in Coventry and built in Leeds from 1972, and 325 were made. He is made of aluminium and carries his weight high up, so real Foxes really did tip over when they went round corners too fast.
