It is Fiona's birthday, and nobody stops to say hello.

Fiona is the kindest machine in Little Muddlebury. She has ten seats, a big door at the back, and she counts her friends on and counts them off again so that nobody gets lost. On her birthday, Bernie races away from the fuel station, Henri scarpers from the bakery with a picnic, and even her sister Abby is missing from the hill. Fiona rolls sadly up to Farmer Geoff's barn to find Danny, and the doors fly open.

What is it about?

The people who love you have not forgotten you. Having more friends than you can count is the best present of all.

Which real vehicle is Fiona based on?

Real Fiona is an FV432, which is a sort of bus with tracks. She was built in Shropshire between 1962 and 1971, and about 3,000 were made. Her ten passengers sit in two rows of five and climb in through one big door at the back, which even has a kettle on it for making hot drinks.
